more layered holly

Today I've used Layered Holly to actually layer holly!

My first card isn't thinking outside the box. It's stamping outside the box. This is one of my current favorite designs. Did you see this card and this card?

Don't you just love that artsy look to the berries and leaves? And then the gorgeous greeting framed by the grungy frame from Blossom Overture. Just a little sentiment stamp surgery and masking, that's all the technique you need for this fabulous one layer Christmas card.

My second card showcases two of the handwritten sentiments.

After stamping the sentiment, I stamped the berries and then filled in with leaves. TIP: Use the reverse of solid stamps to get slightly different sizes and "directions" of images. If you look closely you'll notice the edges of some leaves are "softer" or "rounder" than others. Those were stamped using the reverse to better fill the space between the berries.

Hope you've enjoyed the fun I've been having with these layered sets - standard or out of the box!
