fractile leaves

Hi! It's been awhile but I'm back after spending several wonderful weeks back in MI with Dad. He's keeping on, keeping on. How lucky we are!

Time though to hit my craft space and dig in to these groovy stamps, from the SSS Stamptember fun, with an even cooler name. Fractile Leaves. Would never have thought of that myself, but what a great description!

For this first card I went for an abstract "cascade" background using all the different leaf images and three different shades of yellow inks. It's kinda hard to see the lightest yellow unfortunately.

Finished my design off with a die cut You and a sentiment from You and a big red heart.

For my second card I paired the modern look of the stamps with a traditional layout. Love the dynamic of only using a partial image.

Heat embossed the leaves and a sentiment from Thoughtful Messages to complete the birthday card.

Both cards were inspired by the colors from The Heart Desires challenge. Happy Fall y'all!

just breathe ...

... that's the sentiment from STAMPlorations I chose to heat emboss onto this card I made. I thought it would be appropriate in the midst of the somewhat busy design.

If you think this looks familiar, maybe you saw my last Spotlight post - Geometric Shapes - over at STAMPlorations. You can find out all about this design there.

What do you think about these giant sentiment stamps? Do you let the sentiment take center stage on your cards or is it often a bit of an afterthought?

spotlight on geometric shapes

I'm over at STAMPlorations with a Spotlight post. I created a card with geometric shapes inspired by Pinterest. Wanna know more? Check it out.

birthday card with leftovers

So way back when, I was having fun with smooshed Distress Ink backgrounds. And Simply Graphic dies. Here's the post.

Well the "frame" leftover from the die cut rectangles on those cards was too pretty to throw away. And believe it or not, I actually created a card around it!

Needed an image that would stretch nicely the height of the card. STAMPlorations Kathryn's Big Wishes worked nicely.

I was going to stamp black images on a white card but then decided to reverse that. White heat embossed onto black CS. Popped up the frame with foam adhesive and voila!

Happy weekend!

birthday card with blossom sprays

Made a sympathy card with STAMPlorations Blossom Spray #3 in yesterday's post. The striped leaves in the bunch of lilies were calling to me. To be rainbowed. With Sharpies cuz they fit perfectly in those slim lines.

And the left-white-lilies, Wink of Stella'd for some sparkle...

I even added a very light gray Copic outline around the blooms to try to "pop" them off the paper a bit. Not sure that worked.

Added a KartenKunst birthday sentiment.

And am thinking there's more to be done with this lovely stamp one day ;) Have a good one.

sympathy card with blossom sprays

Needed a quick sympathy card and STAMPlorations Blossom Spray #3 came to the rescue.

Don't you agree that this spray of lilies works well for a sympathy card? I applied a light wash of Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and stamped a KartenKunst sentiment.

Stay tuned for a birthday card using this stamp...
