STAMPlorations 8th birthday - day 3

Howdy peeps and welcome to day 3 of STAMPlorations' 8th birthday celebration! Have you been enjoying the new products?

Today I have two cards made with some of the new products. I decided to use kraft for my cards.

First up I did some fussy cutting. Plus some stenciling, die cutting, stamping and coloring ;)

Altenew leaf die, white pigment ink, gray dye ink, Zig markers

And then I had the graphic stenciling be the focal point of my B/W card.

I live in German wine country. Need I say more?

A dear friend is having a birthday so this is her card. Don't you love that big circle? I totally love it in black and white.

I added the die cut sentiment and numbers when it was dry and they a few glasses of bubbly up top. Gotta love glitter glue ;)

Hope you've enjoyed our birthday celebration. And I hope you're celebrating with us. Shery's offering generous prizes - to see how you can win and also to see what the other gals have created check out this post.

STAMPlorations inspiration #323

I'm still playing with some Decotime Twinmarkers alcohol markers I picked up at the local "dollar store" and practicing my coloring. I colored another digi image today. I love this one. And since I'm always in need of a belated birthday card...

alcohol markers, Distress Ink

I colored and fussy cut the image. Die cut and stacked the sentiment. Before adhering the cup to my card I sponged some Antique Linen DI through a stencil onto my cardbase.

As always, you could win yourself a $15 prize code to the store by leaving a comment on this month's inspiration posts! Check out today's post over at STAMPlorations. And if I should ever inspire you to order something from the store, I'd appreciate it if you used my STAMPGIRLMARIA discount code for an additional 20% off your order.

new paper goods - ephemera tiles

Hi friends. Dropping in today to share something new with you. There's a new kid on the block over at STAMPlorations and it's pretty exciting.

Meet "paper goods" - card fronts, colorables and ephemera. Shery has a wide variety of designs from florals to coffee to graphic. Today I've had a play with some graphic ephemera tiles.

There are six tiles (1.75 in) to a sheet of 120 lb paper, and six sheets to a package. For my first card I used a sheet as is.

I stenciled around the edges of my cardbase since the sheet is a bit smaller, added the B/W edge die up top, stitched the sheet onto the card and topped it off with a die cut sentiment.

I used the sheet as is for my second card, but can you tell what I did differently?
I used a circle die to cut the messages and then turned the sheet vertically and adhered it to my cardbase to which I'd added a couple black art marks to pick up on the style of the tiles. And then for fun, I popped the circles up on foam tape and adhered them haphazardly on the colored squares. No risk, no fun ;)

My last card is CAS. Yep.

Art Border 3 die (coming soon)
Heidi Swapp black color shine spray, PP, washi, enamel star

I used a tag die to cut two tiles from a sheet as well as from PP. Used a coming-to-the-store-soon border die to spice up the bottom of the card front. And keeping with the splatter style I added a strip of washi along the bottom edge. Adhered the tags and voila!

Keep watching the STAMP blog for more sneaks of these fun, new, paper goods. I'll be back with some of the graphic card fronts soon.

cas cards challenge june reminder

Welcome to our reminder about the STAMPlorations June CAS Cards challenge, folks!

As always the challenge is to create any CAS card, with an optional color twist - this month the twist is light blue and cream.

As I mentioned with my first card this month, those colors would normally take me down the baby card road, but alas I needed several sympathy cards. Here's my second card.

alcohol markers

For this clean card I die cut and dry embossed (with the stencil) a rectangle of cream cardstock and adhered that to my cardbase. I colored strips of cardstock in blue tones with my alcohol markers and die cut the sentiment. Stacked the die cuts offset and adhered them to the card.

CAS card tip: Add interest with some dry embossing. Adds no extra color, just a little bit of pattern/texture.

I'm looking forward to your CAS card creations! Your project might be chosen as one of the prize winners. Check out how the DT was inspired by this month's photo here.

And don't forget about my STAMPlorations discount code STAMPGIRLMARIA for 20% off should I ever inspire you to do some shopping ;)  Thanks for stopping over today. See you in the gallery.

STAMPlorations inspiration #322

Still playing with some Decotime Twinmarkers alcohol markers I picked up at the local "dollar store". I actually colored this during Kathy Rac's last coloring challenge.

For today's card I turned the panel into a card. Just added some Wink of Stella over the colored images and some doodles around the sentiment.

another spotlight on flexi templates

Hi friends. Check out my tutorial over at STAMPlorations where I used the oval flexi templates as stencils to create a masterboard which I then used to make four cards! Here are the last two.

STAMPlorations inspiration #321

Playing with my new Decotime Twinmarkers alcohol markers again. I actually colored this image during Kathy Rac's last coloring challenge.

For today's card I turned the colored digi image into a card.

alcohol markers, Distress Inks

I fussy cut the image, took a black marker to the cut edges and popped it up over a panel I'd inked through a stencil. Added the perfect sentiment and voila!

STAMPlorations inspiration #320

I recently picked up some Decotime Twinmarkers alcohol markers at the local "dollar store" and decided to play with them for my inspiration posts.

For today's card I used markers to add color, but not a stamped image. Rather I traced a portion of a stencil with a Copic fineline and then colored with my markers. For added interest in the white space, I applied pearlescent embossing paste through the brick stencil.

That purple flower... Aargh! I've still got a lot to learn!

cas cards challenge june

As always the challenge is to create any CAS card, with an optional color twist - this month the twist is light blue and cream.

Those colors would normally take me down the baby card road, but alas I need several sympathy cards right now so babies will have to wait. Here's my first card.

distress inks, clear embossing powder

Revisited a standard sympathy card design of mine, just with some different products. Masking, inking, silhouette stamp and an appropriate sentiment.

CAS card tip: When you've added an area of interest to a portion of your CAS design, extend your image off the edge of it to create more interest.
