STAMPlorations - christmas bundle (2)

Guten Tag. I'm back with more Christmas cards I made with another bundle being offered at a super price over at STAMPlorations right now. Check out all the bundles on offer here. Shery's put them together and is offering them at a great price.

In this post I worked with a cover plate included in the Christmas Bundle - 2 cover plates and 8 phrase dies for $65 and got a threefer out of my crafting session!

So first I die cut the cover plate from black CS, added it to a black card and filled in a few colored pieces. These were from a cover die cut from Neenah white and colored with alcohol markers.

Then I took the white piece (the positive) and used it as a stencil to make this card. I first traced the main images with my alcohol markers again and colored them in, then pounced Antique Linen oxide through the other areas.

So after I'd pounced the oxide through the "stencil" for the previous card I decided I kinda liked the look of it so I took my markers to the main images again to add the pops of color, then softened them a bit with some oxide left on my dauber and voila! Card number three.

STAMPlorations - gratitude bundle

Guten Tag. I'm back with some cards I made with another bundle being offered at a super price over at STAMPlorations right now.

You're probably aware that Shery is going through cancer treatments right now, but she's still finding time to do some work in the shop. You can check out all the bundles on offer here.

In this post I worked with some dies included in the Gratitude Bundle (I love this bundle!) - 1 cover plate, 1 modern trees stand-alone die plus 2 phrase dies all for under $34!!  If you love ephemera, Shery's got a bundle for that too, check out this post.

First I had a play with the phrase dies. I'd picked a color palette of alcohol markers for some Christmas cards (coming soon) so since they were still out I decided to color some strips of paper and play with some stripes.

One on a stenciled BG.

One on PP.

Then I took one of the modern trees, colored more paper scraps with my alcohol markers and die cut the solid pieces from them. Die cut the outline pieces from black, adhered them all plus a sentiment and voila! Super CAS.

I'm taking card #2 to Timeout challenge because of the "grateful heart" sentiment, Cut it Up Thanks or Thanksgiving as well as Double D where it's a Grateful theme.

Thanks for coming by.

STAMPlorations inspiration #324

Welcome to a Tuesday inspiration post from the STAMPlorations inspiration team girls.

Another colored digi coffee cup today. Let me tell you, these coffee cups are such fun to color!

alcohol markers, patterned paper, washi, embossing powder

I colored and fussy cut the image. Heat embossed the fun sentiment (all three in the set fit perfectly on a die cut circle) and then added some PP from my stash and a strip of washi before adding the cup.

STAMPlorations inspiration #323

I'm still playing with some Decotime Twinmarkers alcohol markers I picked up at the local "dollar store" and practicing my coloring. I colored another digi image today. I love this one. And since I'm always in need of a belated birthday card...

alcohol markers, Distress Ink

I colored and fussy cut the image. Die cut and stacked the sentiment. Before adhering the cup to my card I sponged some Antique Linen DI through a stencil onto my cardbase.

STAMPlorations inspiration #322

Still playing with some Decotime Twinmarkers alcohol markers I picked up at the local "dollar store". I actually colored this during Kathy Rac's last coloring challenge.

For today's card I turned the panel into a card. Just added some Wink of Stella over the colored images and some doodles around the sentiment.

STAMPlorations inspiration #321

Playing with my new Decotime Twinmarkers alcohol markers again. I actually colored this image during Kathy Rac's last coloring challenge.

For today's card I turned the colored digi image into a card.

alcohol markers, Distress Inks

I fussy cut the image, took a black marker to the cut edges and popped it up over a panel I'd inked through a stencil. Added the perfect sentiment and voila!

STAMPlorations inspiration #320

I recently picked up some Decotime Twinmarkers alcohol markers at the local "dollar store" and decided to play with them for my inspiration posts.

For today's card I used markers to add color, but not a stamped image. Rather I traced a portion of a stencil with a Copic fineline and then colored with my markers. For added interest in the white space, I applied pearlescent embossing paste through the brick stencil.

That purple flower... Aargh! I've still got a lot to learn!

STAMPlorations inspiration #318

I recently picked up some Decotime Twinmarkers alcohol markers at the local "dollar store" and decided to play with them for my inspiration posts in May.

First up, an oldie but goodie design and a great way to either use up cardstock scraps or create your own colors of cardstock.

alcohol markers

Trim strips of white cardstock. Color them with markers. Stamp image on cardfront using stamp positioner and leave stamp on positioner. Adhere strips. Line card up in positioner and stamp image again. Add sentiment.

STAMPlorations introducing spring coffee kit

There's a new product in town. Over at the STAMPlorations shop. Have you seen it? Shery is putting together kits at a great price point.

Today a few of my teamies and I are sharing our makes with the new Spring Coffee Kit. Ready?

The kit contains an image stamp, sentiment stamps and stencils (2 patterns each in large and mini). All you have to decide is...

Do you want to color? Then go for it. Color and fussy cut the image and pop it up on a background created by randomly stamping one of the sentiments.

alcohol markers, washi tape

In case you're interested, I watched this video before coloring my coffee (yes I was intimidated by that big expanse of brown!) Easy peasy.

If you're not into coloring, use the mini stencil and a circle mask to "color" the coffee. I added some blue touches with alcohol markers but you wouldn't even have to. I heat embossed one of the kit sentiments in blue but didn't like it so I then stamped over it in black and clear embossed it.

And then there's this method for getting color onto a B/W stamped image. Check out this post for the deets. Basically it involves stamping, applying embossing paste and then sponging ink.

So, that's a wrap. Are you a fan of kits? Be sure to check out all the DT's creations over at the STAMP blog. And be sure to leave a comment, Shery's giving away a kit.

Please remember to use my STAMPGIRLMARIA code if I inspire you to place an order. You'll get an extra 20% off!

Appreciate your visit. Have a great day. I'm hooking up card #1 over at SSS Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

cas cards challenge may

Welcome to the STAMPlorations May CAS Cards challenge. Yep, May already.

As always the challenge is to create any CAS card, with an optional color twist - this month it's an interesting one - copper and yellow!

Here's my first card.

See all that lovely sparkle and shine of the embossing?

Decotime alcohol markers, copper embossing powder

Some heat embossing, some coloring with alcohol markers, some fussy cutting and some washi.

CAS card tip: Color only a portion of an image, or fussy cut and pop up only a portion of an image to keep things CAS.

For more inspiration with this stamp check out this post

I'm looking forward to your CAS card creations! Your project might be chosen as one of the prize winners. Check out how the DT was inspired by this month's photo here.

And don't forget about my STAMPlorations discount code STAMPGIRLMARIA for 20% off should I ever inspire you to do some shopping ;)  Thanks for stopping over today. See you in the gallery.

masculine birthday with birthday block die

I'm guest designing at Addicted to Stamps and More where the theme is Birthday.

For my guest designer project I made a card using the Birthday Block die. For this card I used the positive die cuts that were leftover and made a masculine birthday card. I recently picked up some more alcohol markers from the "dollar store" and wanted to have a play. I used various gray tones (warm, cool, blue gray) to color the Neenah white die cut letters.

Pop over to the Addicted to Stamps and More blog for more birthday card inspiration. I'm hooking up at Always Fun Challenges where it's about Pastels.

simon says stamp - all the feels release

There's a new release at Simon Says Stamp called All the Feels and there are a lot of fun products for all styles of cardmakers. Check it out.

I started by playing with the Happy Meowther's Day stamp set. Are you a kitty lover? There are six kitties in this set, but this image is my favorite. (The heart and paws stamp are in the set too!)

With this next card you can probably tell that I'm not a cat person. Do they even make dark brown cats?!? ;)

Check out all the makes with the products from the All the Feels release in the gallery here. And watch for the upcoming blog hops for lots of inspiration. Thanks for visiting my blog today.

I'm playing at The Paper Players where it's about CAS Animals.

STAMPlorations inspiration #312

It's time for another Tuesday inspiration post from the STAMPlorations inspiration team girls

I have a theme this month - white on white

Did you see my latest Spotlight tutorial over at STAMPlorations? I die cut some circles out of a cover plate die cut and couldn't just toss them so I used them on today's card to add additional interest (the pricked circles are interest, the adhered circles add even more!) to the white background.

Do you like white on white?

You could win yourself a $15 prize code to the store by leaving a comment on this month's inspiration posts! Check out today's post over at STAMPlorations. monogram projects

A while ago I made a couple projects with the Altenew monogram challenge in mind. Well apparently it's come and gone while I was snoozing but I'm gonna share my projects with you anyhoo! BTW there are many cool ideas in the gallery if you, like me, like to personalize your projects.

You may recall this pop up box card. Well it needed an envelope to match so I made one and added this monogram to it.

Recognize the floral? It's Altenew's Sketchy Floral stamp and I stamped and colored it with alcohol markers before die cutting a circle out of it. The circle became the monogram above and the panel became the birthday card below. I added the same image heat embossed in silver on black behind the negative.

One more project. Not Altenew, I believe I intended to hook up at Pinkfresh, but this was for DS's friend's bday. I used alcohol markers to color the Pinkfresh Adore Alpha letters and added STAMPlorations Number Plate too.

Guess I need to make better use of my calendar ;) Have a great day!

I'm playing at:
ATSAM - Make your Mark (#2)
Challenge up your Life - Flowers (#2)
Die Cut Divas - Slimline cards (#3)
