STB - october 14 2024

It's October in Michigan in my STB memory planner for 2024.

And it's looking very autumnesque. On sleeves housing pull out strips of photos and journaling.

Happy to use up some stash on my memory planner this week - PP, stickers, alpha stickers for titles. All with an autumn feel. To match the rough lake, rain soaked driveway, cider and donuts.

And hey, how 'bout those Lions?!?

STB april 2024 in a nutshell

I used the month-at-a-glance in my 2024 STB memory planner for the first time.

I know people use them like a calendar. I decided to do a glance back at the end of the month and do a month-in-a-nutshell. Just having fun remembering all the things that somehow stuck out to me as having been important in that month.

May I introduce April-in-a-nutshell.

STB - april 22 2024

More of April 2024 in my Heidi Swapp STB memory planner.

Once again less photos. More fun place holders and white space.

Found a PP at my local dollar store that I loved and let it lead me.  Again, nice having PP with color schemes already perfected that you can use to create your pages.

Used some alphas and stickers that seemed to match too.  And photo flip ups ;)

STB - march 4 2024

It's March 2024 in my STB memory planner. And we are in northern Italy with lots of snow and blue sky.

Love this B/W color scheme with the pops of blue sky.

How about hiding all the photos behind those giant flaps? And just including the fave photos of the week on the front of the flap. I love this idea. Also housing some real memorabilia in there too. Always helpful when those questions of when? where? how much? come up later on.

Keeping it all preserved in my Heidi Swapp planner.

STB - september 25 2023

Autumn. Love it. The end of September 2023 in my STB memory planner.

Pumpkins. Mums. Warm colors. Who doesn't love Fall?

I was actually a busy gal this week, making improvements to my craft room. DIYing a Clip It, for example!

Using up stash when working on my Heidi Swapp memory planner preserving memories like this ;) Alpha dies. Stickers. AndPP ;)

a CASE in blue

 Hi there peeps!

I was very inspired by a card Andrea M. made recently and it actually moved me to hit my craft room and CASE it.

Loved her color combo so I stuck with it. Perused my dies for something that would give that fall feel, but keep my life simple. Chose a bit bigger pattern for my BG but it sure looks a lot like hers. Love it.

Because I loved the design so much I decided to put a twist on it and go a bit masculine. Same colors. Different motif. Feathers this time. And an embossed plus clock BG to go with the happy birthday, time passing theme.

Inkystamp sentiment stamp,
embossing powder, twine
Lifestyle Crafts feather die,

That's it for today. Thanks for looking.

pretty in pink - and green

How about a couple cards with a similar color scheme although they came about in different ways.

The patterned paper inspired me for this first one.  Needed a personalized card for DS so decided to include the initial as part of a shaker.  Sequins and gold are always a good idea, right?

I was sorting through some old stamps and ran across this oldie but goodie peony from PTI. Paired it with a more modern stencil BG and some cool word dies from A Pocket Full of Happiness. And some glitter washi!

Hope you are having a peaceful day. Thanks for looking.

mini accordion album - nordsee

Another mini album in the books. And another craftermath.

So did you see my last one? I was inspired by Andrea L to give a mini album a try. Because it was SUCH fun, I decided to make another one for DD after we took a trip to the North Sea.

I'm just gonna show you the pages. There's so much product. So many fun, interactive elements. And so many dog photos ;)

Waffle Flower alpha die
inks, vellum, stickers, washi, ribbon, staples

It's all there - flaps, pockets, tags, tabs, vellum, stickers, hidden journaling, hidden photos. FUN! And the best part? DD loved it!

LEARNED:
Got reacquainted with some really old stash.
You need to know your adhesives when constructing a book with them.
Cutting things up/apart to make them fit your design really works.
Don't make pockets/sleeves too tight or impatient people won't be able to use them ;)

I'm playing at:
Creative Friday - Use your Stuff (I sure did!)

STAMPlorations - christmas bundle (2)

Guten Tag. I'm back with more Christmas cards I made with another bundle being offered at a super price over at STAMPlorations right now. Check out all the bundles on offer here. Shery's put them together and is offering them at a great price.

In this post I worked with a cover plate included in the Christmas Bundle - 2 cover plates and 8 phrase dies for $65 and got a threefer out of my crafting session!

So first I die cut the cover plate from black CS, added it to a black card and filled in a few colored pieces. These were from a cover die cut from Neenah white and colored with alcohol markers.

Then I took the white piece (the positive) and used it as a stencil to make this card. I first traced the main images with my alcohol markers again and colored them in, then pounced Antique Linen oxide through the other areas.

So after I'd pounced the oxide through the "stencil" for the previous card I decided I kinda liked the look of it so I took my markers to the main images again to add the pops of color, then softened them a bit with some oxide left on my dauber and voila! Card number three.

I'm taking card #1 to Happy Little Stampers November Christmas AG challenge as well as Die Cut Divas November AG challenge.

Appreciate you stopping by. Have a great day.

STAMPlorations - gratitude bundle

Guten Tag. I'm back with some cards I made with another bundle being offered at a super price over at STAMPlorations right now.

You're probably aware that Shery is going through cancer treatments right now, but she's still finding time to do some work in the shop. You can check out all the bundles on offer here.

In this post I worked with some dies included in the Gratitude Bundle (I love this bundle!) - 1 cover plate, 1 modern trees stand-alone die plus 2 phrase dies all for under $34!!  If you love ephemera, Shery's got a bundle for that too, check out this post.

First I had a play with the phrase dies. I'd picked a color palette of alcohol markers for some Christmas cards (coming soon) so since they were still out I decided to color some strips of paper and play with some stripes.

One on a stenciled BG.

One on PP.

Then I took one of the modern trees, colored more paper scraps with my alcohol markers and die cut the solid pieces from them. Die cut the outline pieces from black, adhered them all plus a sentiment and voila! Super CAS.

I'm taking card #2 to Timeout challenge because of the "grateful heart" sentiment, Cut it Up Thanks or Thanksgiving as well as Double D where it's a Grateful theme.

Thanks for coming by.

mini accordion album - what fun!

So did you see the first ever SBCfest over at Scrapbook.com? I happened to catch some of the videos and in this one Andrea L totally inspired me to give a mini album a try. I had never created one of these! SUCH fun.

So many ideas. So many supplies. So many hours ;) I'm just going to share some photos of the completed project. It's on its way to Australia as we speak.

Unfortunately I'm way too late for her birthday so I decided a little book to record this moment in time could be fun too rather than a card. I used the letters of her name in page titles (9 plus cover) with interactive pieces for lists of favorites - movies, fashion, eats, etc. Also included a few pages where she can add special photos - her at 30, her cake, etc. Used all the fun techniques too - shaker, flaps, belly band, pockets.

Hope she has as much fun completing it as I had making it! Have you ever made one of these? If not, I strongly recommend it. How about in a smaller size to hold a gift card? I know there are more of these in my future ;)

commissioned milestone birthday cards

Next up in my summer programming - commissioned milestone birthday cards.

Can you guess the recipient of this first card? A teacher! How'd I do?

And this one was a challenge.  A Covid theme for a gal turning 40. Had to get creative with clip art and a hole punch!

more scrap strips

Did you catch my tutorial yesterday at STAMPlorations? More strips. This time torn from scrap paper I used when swatching inks.

And did you catch that I'm in the process of moving my craft room? And rediscovering all the stuff I have? Who's been around cardmaking for a few years and can recognize the PP I found in my craft room and used on my card?!?

chipboard stickers

So I adhered the stripped, die cut tag to two pieces of Tim Holtz Ideology paper (I think it's so old it just might be trendy again with its retro colors and images). Did you recognize it?

Then I pulled out various stickers I have and decide to pop a few onto my card to jazz it up. Oh, and a little punched butterfly from my stash too.

Let me tell you, this card is certainly not perfect, but it was FUN to make. I was inspired by watching Barbara just have fun pulling out supplies and scraps and put 'em all together. And boy do I have supplies and scraps...

tag a la therese for day 3 of ellen hutson christmas tags

I actually look forward to this every year - Ellen Hutson's 12 Days of Christmas Tags - though sometimes my lack of planning ahead with holiday preparations gets in the way of crafting. Like in 2021. Dang.

But two birds with one stone... Got all my Christmas cookies baked with DD. I'm gifting neighbors cookies this year. DD recently moved into a new apartment and she's decided to gift her new neighbors with cookies too. So of course I offered to make some tags for her cellophane bags.

Enter Ellen's tag event. And Therese's bold and graphic Feliz Navidad tag. And exit stage left.

Actually, I was inspired to use my new hexagon dies. And make a layered tag. And stamp a sentiment in a foreign language. But that's where the similarities end.

Meet my tags, a la Therese but more DD's style.

A couple close ups...

I'm hooking up over at Just Add Ink too where they're looking for Christmas Gift Card Holders or Tags as well as at Happy Little Stampers AG with Die Cuts for December.
