flowers (velveteen stamping)

Finally got around to creating cards with flowers for this month's Hero Arts challenge.

Wanted to try the velveteen stamping technique. Shari used white pigment ink and Hero Arts inks.  Must not work optimally with chalk inks.  You can see my swirl BG on the white areas (stamped with white pigment ink), but not shimmering through the flowers (stamped with chalk ink).

Love the color combo at CR84FN #50.  But I struggled with the assembly of this card.  Tried various CS colors to mount it on and some ribbon here or there, but came back to simplest of simple.  One  little vellum butterfly.  And pale yellow for the back panel at least!

Went with the Hero Arts colors for this month on this card made with the negative of card #1.

Had actually tested the chalk inks on this negative before stamping card #1.  Saw that the velveteen effect didn't really work, but wanted to go with the colors anyway and I only have them in chalk inks.

Love navy blue so decided to keep this simple by heat embossing the flowers in white.  Can you tell I don't own an anti-static sack?

Do you have a trick for avoiding the stray embossing powder effect?

Thanks for looking (again) today.
