The Aftermath

All I wanted to do was make a quick post and then make my kids' lunch.  I was running late (spent too much time touring blogland.)  Posted, and then in a momentary lapse of reason, deleted all of the wonderful comments that all of you wonderful people had left on my blog!

Now maybe I'm still to experience something worse with blogging, but THAT was about the worst thing that I could imagine happening.

Six hours later, after some marathon googling and then cutting and pasting, the wonderful comments were back on my blog.  As mad as I had been at Blogger for not having asked computer-dumbell-me if I "really, really, really wanted to delete", I was ecstatic to discover that the emails I receive when comments are posted were still in my trash can in Gmail!

Enter the cutting and pasting.

SOOO, the card that I had planned to work on last night, didn't happen until today.

Unfortunately I need two more sympathy cards.  I wanted to play with the Play Date Cafe's color challenge - mojito, peony and sand.

And I wanted to use my new Craft Concepts embossing folder.  With Coredinations whitewash CS.  Sanded.  What a cool effect this has.

Inked up my typewriter BG with creme and beige and stamped my frame .  Clear embossed the chestnut brown sentiment (the sympathy message is inside.)  Inked all edges.  Added some beige cotton twine as a frame around the frame to give it more texture.

In the inspiration photo the pink looks pretty light.  But I needed a bit more contrast so I went with this medium pinky tone.  Glued some seed beeds onto the punched butterflies for... more texture.  Now I get to wrap it in bubble wrap when I mail it...

BTW, I use Glossy Accents to adhere lots of things.  Holds like cement.

Also hooking up to Simon Says Stamp's Anything Goes challenge.

Hope you have a healthy and happy weekend.  I'm happy.  I got my comments back :)

Paper: card base Buttinnette, CS Coredinations

This is really pretty. I love how you've used seed beads on the butterfly. Great idea! Glad you figured out a way to get your comments back! :) Ann Y.

Maria, what a nightmare that must've been, trying to recoup all those comments! Yikes!

You still had enough in you to create a GORGEOUS simple card, though! Love that twine frame and the embossed butterflies. I'm always a sucker for text backgrounds, too.

Thanks so much for playing with us at The Play Date Cafe this week!
