watercolored cherry blossoms (Moxie Fab, SSS, ATCAS)

Have I mentioned I can't get enough of the watercolor trend ;)  You may have seen this card inspired by the crab apple in my front yard.  Well today I was inspired by the Japanese cherry in the backyard.

And the Pretty Pink Petits Fours at Moxie Fab.  What delicate beauty.  Which translated to cherry blossoms in my mind.

So I reached for some crepe paper and a potion leftover from a card I made for a submission call (didn't get picked but I'll share with you later.  Happy dance for the four that were picked!  I still can't believe it.)  The potion, you're wondering?  Spray ink + soap bubbles.  Yep.  That's it in the jar.

Dribbled some onto my palette, sprayed with water and soaked up some color with the crepe paper. Die cut some blossoms with a Memory Box die and added a bit of a gray branch like the silver serving piece, some woodgrain like the plate and some vellum to replicate the glaze.  I was so into this I've got two for your viewing pleasure!

For mom for Mother's Day (can't believe I've actually done this in plenty of time!)  Three blossoms with two layers of petals and a vellum sentiment.

And an all occasion beauty with a one-layer blossom and vellum butterflies.  These make me smile. Hope you're smiling too!

EGADS!!! I can't wrap my head around how gorgeous these cards are!! The colored crepe paper (and how you did it), the design, and the complete softness of these cards make them heavenly. Bonus that you can see where your inspiration comes from. You've out done yourself, Maria!

Woah, these are GORGEOUS. I have that MB die, too. You've totally breathed new life into it. Can't wait to try this myself for a mother's day card. Love. (And congrats on getting four cards picked up!)

WOW! Such stunning cards! I really like how you placed the die cut tree branch on your first card, and the stitching over the sentiment is such a fabulous detail. The vellum butterflies on your second card look beautiful!

Flippin' outrageous, Maria! I'm shell-shocked. First your yard pictures just make me so green with envy. HOW do you get anything done??? Well, but so, obviously, you do get something done and that something is a totally perfect translation of Nature into your own handmade flowers. You are something else! You are also pinned. Again. Mwah!!

Hey Maria! Thanks for linking this up to this week's Tuesday Trigger in the Moxie Fab World! I'm so glad you joined in on all the fun! :)

...and by the way, thank you SO MUCH for the lovely and thoughtful card that you sent me. It's in a place of prominence in my office. Pretty much made me cry. And to answer your question...I pull this little ol' blog o' mine off all by myself (with the help of Matt Anderson who adds the Moxie Fab World logo to my blog banners after I give him an image to work from)...and I enjoy it WAY more than I should :)

Love to you, my friend! :)

I would love more specific info on your ''potion". Exactly what kind of soap bubbles? Surely not the kind you blow through a wand. I

Just saw this and so sorry I didn't respond. I hope you might receive this. Check out my post here for more info on the soap bubbles. Yep, the wand kind.
