25 days of christmas tags 2018 - part 1

Tracey's 25 Tags event came into my reader as I was pondering what to make for neighbor gifts this year... Now I know. And have already made a few sets of tags. Wanna see?

Without further ado, here are my first three.

For Day 2 with Altenew I was inspired by Norine's simple tags in kraft and light blue and made this set. And used up some PP ;)

Can you see the sparkle of the glitter CS and the glitter embossed sentiment? Such fun contrast to the kraft CS.

For Day 4 with Reverse Confetti I was inspired by Tracey's little gnome set in a cute scene. I used to be so afraid of little scenes, cuz they require coloring, but I bought myself a couple of "cute" sets with dies and am slowly expanding my horizons ;) This set is for the family DD babysits for. And did I mention how great it is to use up some of my PP stash!

For Day 5 with Newton's Nook, I loved the ornament shaker tags by Jennifer. When I thought about making ornament tags that could also be hung on a tree, I decided they needed to have lots of shiny gold. So I pulled out a PP pack with lotsa gold (did I mention how great it is to use up stash?!?) and these happened. Quite an exercise in engineering... how to include that dangling star embellishment between all the layers but in front of the acetate ...

And these additional tags happened with the leftovers from the shakers!

STAMPlorations inspiration #194

Welcome to another Tuesday inspiration from the STAMPlorations inspiration team where the team members feature stamps from one of our talented stamp designers.

Today we're using Becca' Big Grins stamps.  From November 13-19 all of Becca's stamps are 10% off - no coupon needed.

This month, I 'm creating cards inspired by favorite cards I've pinned recently. This was my inspiration for today's card, though I deviated. Meet the card.

Copic markers

Thought I'd use a critter and create a scene like in the inspiration. But this guy is just a bit too big for that, so this baking mishap scene happened instead ;) Masked and stamped and colored with Copics. Love that sentiment!

I've used these two sets here and here too if you'd like more inspiration!

You could win yourself a $10 GC to the store by leaving a comment on the November inspiration posts. Check out today's post here. And I'd love it if to get an extra 20% off your next order, you use my discount code STAMPGIRLMARIA.

4th giving thanks blog hop with STAMPlorations

I'm so proud to be taking part in the 4th Giving Thanks Blog Hop over at STAMPlorations. It's easy to find so much to be thankful for if you only take the time! You'll find lots of inspiration from a great group of designers on today's hop.  Check out the STAMPlorations blog here

First up, I couldn't resist some traditional Thanksgiving colors (in my mind at least) cuz that's what the message reminds me of. I started with one of the new coverplates and ended up with a super CAS card. Cuz white goes with everything ;)

Distress inks

I die cut the cover plate and then using bits of paper I masked off the area around the pumpkin to avoid errant ink while inking with daubers. I then just adhered the die cut sentiment in all its glory. Love the message. Love the result.

And then I just had to do something with the "stencil" I'd used to ink that pumpkin, right? Just added a little more ink around the area of the pumpkin to give it a halo and then adhered the die cut to a white cardbase. I liked all that white so much, the same sentiment (in olive green) adorns the inside of the card rather than the front.

Distress inks

As always there will be prizes, over $200 worth, for commenting on stops on the hop, for commenting on FB and IG and there's a wish list linky party again that you should be sure to hook up to! And there's a super sale going on too! All the deets are here.

Thanks so much for visiting, today and every day. I'm so thankful for your encouragement. Let me know what you're thankful for right now and I'll send two of you one of my handmade cards.

STAMPlorations inspiration #193

Welcome to another Tuesday inspiration from the STAMPlorations inspiration team where the team members feature stamps from one of our talented stamp designers.

Today we're using The Bee's Knees stamps.  From November 6-12 all of Shirley's stamps are 10% off - no coupon needed.

This month, I 'm creating  cards inspired by some of my favorite cards designed by others which I've pinned and finally decided to use to inspire myself! One of my top five designers is Aga M. This card of hers was my inspiration for today's card. Here's my card.

Altenew inks

Pretty straightforward. Following Aga's lead, I grabbed a leftover die cut negative and used it as my sentiment. I don't know - those are poinsettias but is this a Christmas card!?!

See more of my cards using this new layered set here.

You could win yourself a $10 GC to the store by leaving a comment on the November inspiration posts. Check out today's post here. And I'd love it if to get an extra 20% off your next order, you use my discount code STAMPGIRLMARIA.

CUTplorations november

We're back with a new CUTplorations challenge for November over at STAMPlorations. Here's our inspiration.

Can't wait to see how this image inspires you. I saw blooms. And thought of the Bloomtangled cover plates. And made this card.

STAMPlorations Thanks die

I got my inspiration for the BG from this card. Swiped DI. Stamped. Applied some embossing paste. Then I did some die cut surgery - using scissors to trim a few blooms from the cover plate die cuts. I swiped some DI color onto several of them before adhering them. Added a sentiment die cut with a white drop shadow to finish it off.

Would love to see you join us for some die cutting fun over at the CUTplorations challenge. Just make a project based on our inspiration using at least one die cut and at least one STAMPlorations product. Your project might be chosen as the winner of a $15 GC to the shop. Check out how the CUTplorations DT was inspired by this month's photo here.

And don't forget about my STAMPlorations discount code STAMPGIRLMARIA for 20% off should you feel a shopping spree coming on ;) Thanks for coming by. See you in the gallery.

the great pink pumpkin

Spent a wonderful few days with some family from the US so I'm late for the big pumpkin party, but after I'd seen the Card Concept 100th challenge a bit ago I had pumpkins and pink and white in my head. So when I had a moment I did this.

gold embossing powder

Gave the new STAMPlorations cover plate a run with some shabby chic whitewashed PP and adhered it over a pink PP with flower pattern. Then I die cut just the pumpkin from woodgrain PP, heat embossed the bottoms gold and inlaid them. Inlaid a few of the whitewashed pieces for interest and added a stacked sentiment too.

I think it's too busy, but I like the woodgrain pumpkin with the embossing. Such a fun touch.

I'm taking this one to:
