trendy trifecta (Moxie Fab, SSS, CASOS)

"Trifecta" from Mama Elephant.  Great stamp set.  First one of my NBUS (never-been-used-schtuff) haul from the homeland that I cracked open to try out.  Cuz it's all about triangles at Moxie Fab and Simon Says Stamp.

Still searching for my mojo... These were created this morning between 9 a.m. when I got up and 10 a.m. when I went to a neighbor's birthday breakfast.  A set of tags.  Again.  Neighbor thought they were pretty cool. I'm hooking up to the Tag It challenge #14 at CAS on Sunday, check it out.

I probably could have gotten a better photo, but I needed the extra two minutes to brush my teeth ;)

It's wine festival time in these here hills so I'll be scarce.  Again.  Prosit.

Christmas in August?

Well, I'm putting this out there for the uber-cool Trendy Triangles Challenge over at Moxie Fab World. Lucky me, Simon Says Stamp is searching for Triangles this week too.

You may recognize the hand-drawn triangle grid from this card and post.  Just used what was left to create a Christmas tree, cuz hey, it doesn't get any triangular-er than a Christmas tree, right?

Just put some color into the triangles using a triangle cut from craft foam, some ink and some gold paint.  Cuz what's a Christmas card without gold, right?  BTW, for those who were following the parade, this is a reject too...

On another note I gotta get something off my chest.  My original triangles card that I linked to above... that was made with lotsa TLC for my "blog crush" who I:
1) blogged about
2) sent readers to
3) alerted in comments on her blog and via email about my blog post
4) even sent the dang card off to in the mail
and I never heard a peep from her.  Guess she needs to hire a secretary.  I'm not crushin' anymore.

On another nother note.  We are getting a puppy in three weeks.  Nuff said.

with a card that got published in the Holiday Cards Vol. 8 issue of Paper Crafts Magazine!  Seemed like Christmas had just passed and there I was making Christmas cards for the submission call. Told ya the world of magazine publishing runs on a wonky calendar.  And I personally am still savoring the beauty of vacay days on the shore of Lake Huron (yes, we are back in Germany after a 7 1/2 hour delay at the airport and a whopper stubbed pinky toe!) as opposed to thinking about Christmas cards, but hey, it is what it is.

Here's my take on the call for non-traditional colors and non-Christmas supplies:

I had this card (second one in post) in mind when I was creating.  To tell ya the truth, I probably wouldn't send this as my Christmas card.  I'm more of a red and green gal when it comes to the holidays ;)

I've got lots of laundry and blog visiting to do - have to see what everyone's been up to this summer.  And half-a-suitcase full of stamps that need to be categorized and USED.  Come and get me mojo...

You may remember I alluded to soap bubbles in a post a while back.  Well, mixed with some Dylusions ink and blown (yep, like you used to when you were a kid) onto CS, they make for some pretty cool images. As well as some spots on your walls and spectacles!

I got the idea from here.  It was quite fun and I picked a portion of the CS sheet with some good bubble splats for my card front and a sentiment which I thought fit perfectly.  Must admit I was disappointed that this card was not picked up.  It's such a fun idea.  So if you're looking for some messy fun with the kids or grandkids, you might want to remember this.

OK, this was a card that I bravely submitted for a call for watercolors.  DD had actually stamped the images (inking up the stamps just as they were on the acetate and stamping them) and then used some watercolors to color in the BG.  I decided to just add the sentiment and attach it to a pink cardbase.  Oh, and a bit of glitter never hurts, right?

I'm not surprised that it was not published.  But it was fun to see it morph from what it was into a card that just welcomed the newest addition to our family on my Dad's side!  Welcome, Kennedy.

This is the point of every vacay where I start to get melancholic.  Nearly time to head back "home." Hmmm, where is home?  I love life in Germany but I love life in Michigan too.  Barefoot and happy from the moment I step foot into my folks' house.

Anyhoo, I've another card for you of the Design Seeds type... just can't find the original color palette to share with you.  Again, white and black were prohibited (black was one of the colors in the palette - so I chose it).

Now this is probably a good example of less-than-perfect embossing.  I think it was better in real life, but the photo sure looks grainy.  But I like the feel of the "bubbles", as in champagne, as in party, as in "let's make some noise."

Chose my CS, did some dry embossing, punched some circles and added some party confetti, alias sequins.  Are they already passe I wonder?

Another card for a Paper Crafts call created based on a color story from Design Seeds.  Chose to work with this one cuz I thought I could get my "white space" fix using that creme color.

Some die cut chevrons-turned-arrows, even using some metallic CS for a "silky" effect.  Some CASual Fridays stamps and a zebra tone-on-tone BG. Sequins too.  And lightly inked edges.  And Cutter Bee faux stitching.  Quite a lot for me, actually.  I like how this design seems alive.  But rejected.
