christmas card set - flora and fauna

OK. Ready for fauna and a little flora? And gobs of whimsy? Here's my favorite Christmas-card-set-as-neighbor-gift. (The decorated envie flaps help too I suppose... ) I pulled out my Flora and Fauna arsenal of stamps and my Altenew ink cubes and this happened.

Without further ado... here's numero uno.

Numero dos. With only one doe (tee hee hee). And heat embossed snow (tee hee hee, that you can barely see)  OK I'll stop.

Numero tres. With some subtle gold dots up top.

Numero quatro.

And numero cinco, definitely not for mass production, but fun to create. Once again I went for the stamping-around-masked-shape design. As long as you fill in most of the edge of the shape, your brain does the rest and "sees" the shape for you. Love how the triangle shapes mimic the shape of evergreens. Just a touch of gold embossing on the little ovals. And that little deer ..... aaahhhhh.

Have a favorite?

I'm headed over to these challenges:
Sweet Stampers - Christmas
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas - #359 Reindeer
The Merry Christmas Challenge - #43 AG with animal option
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Furry Friends
7 Hills Crafts - November Christmas Color
Merry Monday - Outdoor Activities
 HLS CAS Challenge - Christmas
Addicted to Stamps and More - Holiday

Thanks for visiting today! See ya tomorrow for another set... Have a great day.

christmas card set - simon says fa la la

So this next Christmas-card-set as-neighbor-gifts came about because as I was playing with the Fa La La die and stamp setfrom the Making Spirits Bright release, that I was fortunate to receive from Simon Says Stamp, I noticed the really cool secondary sentiments in the stamp set.

And I've always loved the SSS word dies with the die for the outline too. So I opted to create different "feels" again with this set -  musical (cuz how could I not with that song stuck in my head!), cozy and elegant.

Meet musical, version 1 and 2. Used the music notes to decorate the non-papered half of my kraft cardbase and used "boughs of holly" PP.

Meet cozy. This paper just reminds me of a warm sweater, thus cozy. Barely notice the vellum outline die cut, right? Subtle but there.

And meet elegant, with my favorite paper of my dollar store (Tedi) pack and some glitter cardstock for that elegant feel.

Which one tickles your fancy? I've got some Flora and Fauna cuteness for ya tomorrow...

I'm joining the following challenges:
SSS flickr challenge - #84 Holidays
Cards and More - Anything goes with Red
Sweet Stampers - Christmas
HLS Christmas November (no tag option on my cards)
The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge - Anything Goes
12 Months of Christmas Linkup - Star Struck though I've no stars today

christmas card set - lasse and peer

OK. Bring on the bears. And elk. In other words, Lasse and Peer. In their holiday attire (or holiday jack-in-the-box, as you please) Meet another Christmas-card-set-as-neighbor-gift.

Like yesterday's set, the card design was clear. I just let the patterns on the paper inspire the colors I went for on each card. This set, BTW, is going to the family of the little guy who got the birthday card with the same design ;)

Number one. Foiled polka dots gift wrap with a big red glitter bow for Lasse who got a light Zig Clean Color Brush wash of gray. And pink cheeks ;) BTW, all stars got wink-of-stella'd cuz it's Christmas for goodness sake!

STAMPlorations Gift Builder #2, Klartext Lasse and Peer stamp set (20% off at danipeuss right now - just sayin')

Number two. Had to throw a lovely plaid into the pack...

STAMPlorations Gift Builder #2, Klartext Lasse and Peer stamp set

Number three. If you're Peer and you've a pair of antlers like that then you must expect someone to hang some ornaments on them, right?

STAMPlorations Gift Builder #2, Klartext Lasse and Peer stamp set

Number four. Used a cream card base for the last two. Seemed to work better with the PP and Peer's light brown color.

STAMPlorations Gift Builder #2, Klartext Lasse and Peer stamp set

Number five. Fun, fun, fun!

STAMPlorations Gift Builder #2, Klartext Lasse and Peer stamp set (which, did I mention is 20% off at danipeuss right now ?!?)

Polar bear or elk - what's your fancy?

I fancy I'll enter these great challenges:
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas - #359 Reindeer
The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge - Anything Goes
The 12 Months of Christmas Linkup - Star Struck
CAS Watercolor - November Challenge

Thanks for visiting today! See ya tomorrow for another set... Have a great day.

giving thanks blog hop with STAMPlorations

There's some new product on the block over at STAMPlorations. And more Typografia stamps, this time of the THANKFUL kind.

You'll find lots of inspiration from a great group of designers and a slew of talented guest designers on today's Giving Thanks Hop. I hope you arrived here from Monika Skinner's blog or if you want to start at the very beginning of the lineup check out the STAMPlorations blog here

Maybe you saw my cards inspired by my Pinterest board using the Typografia Motivate line of product? Well I kept things that style again today. I just love the look of the Typografia stamps in crisp black with a graphic pattern.

First up, some Thanksgiving colors (in my mind at least) cuz that's what the message reminded me of. Used a solid stamp from Layered Snowman! and Altenew cube inks. And Typografia Thankful Thy Goodness.

And then I just had to go a bit brighter... Used Layered Leaves and a hodge podge of Distress Inks around the edges and Typografia Thankful Thankful People.

As always there will be prizes, for commenting on stops on the hop, for commenting on FB and IG and there's a wish list linky party again that you should be sure to hook up to! All the deets are here.

In addition, Shery is offering most items in the store (sorry, not the new release or retiring items) at 40% off with discount code BIGTHANKS! Definitely time to pick up items you might have on your wish list (if you don't win it in the linky party I mentioned above ;) AND if you happen to place an order for something this week, leave a note** in your order mentioning my name and you get to choose a free word/phrase die (up to $10 value - so many great Christmas ones to choose from - hint, hint) and have it included in your order! :-)

** A note like this: "Hey, Shery, I just placed an order with the 40% off coupon after reading about it on Maria's blog. I'd like the Be Jolly word die as my freebie, please!"

For products in the New Release category, like I've used today, you can still can get them at 20% off with my STAMPGIRLMARIA discount code - and you get a free word/phrase die if your order is over $40!

Thanks so much for visiting. Off you go... hop, hop. Teamie Cornelia Wenokor is next on the hop.

christmas card set - just add ink sketch

Oops. Before I bring in the bears I have to pop in with this set of cards which was inspired by a pad of PP I bought at the local dollar store (Tedi for anyone in the listening area!) and a sketch from Just Add Ink #385.

And since the challenge closes soon, I'm squeaking these in. Playing at:
HLS Anything Goes with Dies November
Where Creativity meets C9- Christmas
The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge - Anything Goes
12 Months of Christmas Linkup - Star Struck too!

The patterns on the paper inspired the "feel" I went for on each card with my take on the sketch.

Number one. Went with the busiest paper and kept the embellishing simple. But glittered! And I thought my latest product from Simon Says Stamp (thanks, Simon) would do well cut up for the three "banners".

STAMPlorations Gift Builder #2, SSS Fa La La
and Fa La La stamp set

Number two. One sheet of  PP fits two cards perfectly, so...

STAMPlorations Christmas Baubles #1Lil Inker Stitched Rectangles, Concord and 9th O Christmas Tree

Number three. Stars go well with angels, don't you think?

Number four. The stars needed to be a bit bolder so golden they became!

STAMPlorations Christmas Icons Angel, PTI Sketched Stars, Klartext Frohe Weihnachten

Number five. This paper is such fun, had to embellish with "fun" vellum dots and a sparkly tree!

STAMPlorations Trendy Christmas Trees, Lil Inker Stitched RectanglesKlartext Frohe Weihnachten

Hope you've enjoyed. I sure enjoyed creating within the restrictions of sketch and PP, just trying to create a different feel for each card. Back with the bears tomorrow!

lasse and peer and zigs oh my!

Greetings! I've been on a turbo Christmas-card-set-for-neighbor-gifts production tour the past week. Actually getting to my Christmas TO DO list ahead of time. We'll see if it helps. It should help when it comes to time spent in the kitchen; I usually do cookies or candies or something homemade. To eat.

I'll be sharing my card sets with you. But first two cards.

The first was the result of me finally figuring out my Pentel Aquash water brush. I'd taken it apart so many times (thanks to this video) but it still seemed "clogged" and would let out a big blob of water on the side of the brush. I finally read somewhere to put the valve in bleach to clean out any pigment that might be dried in there (don't know if it's happened to you but sometimes the valve seemed to have worked in the wrong direction and soaked color into the tank, which after time I guess can clog that tiny hole in the valve) and voila!  So I did a test piece with Zigs and the brush. It appears to work again! The test piece was the bear in a square...

 Using Klartext Lasse and Peer

... which became this card thanks to the sketch at Just Add Ink! I'm playing at:
Just Add Ink - #385
 Danipeuss Kartenchallenge - Bunt
CAS Watercolor - November
Addicted to Stamps and More - Addicted to Holidays

And then, since Lasse and Peer were out, I made a birthday card for the little guy DD babysits. Last year he got a shaker with the polar bear. This year a reindeer jack-in-the-box (was not my intention, but somehow that's the feeling I get from the design!)

Using Klartext Lasse and PeerSTAMPlorations Gift Builder #2

Again, used my Zigs and water brush. And some little boy colors. Added a bit of Wink of Stella to the stellars up top and voila!

I'm playing at:
Addicted to CAS - Bows
Happy Little Stampers - AG with Dies November

Thanks for visiting. I'll be back with my sets shortly. The first one features Lasse and Peer. In holiday attire!
