oh-la-la Fancy Schmancy (DIY patterned paper)

I love the creative process!

Take an inspiration photo like the one at Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger:

Add Maile Belles' Pinterest inspiration photo of the striped coffee mug:

Challenge yourself to use a sketch. I chose #136 from day 1 of CPS anniversary challenge:

Then pull some memories from the dark recesses of the brain.  Childhood in Michigan. Yummy chocolates boxed in coral/white striped boxes.  (Thought Russell Stover, but can't find any pics.  Was it Turtles???)

So.  The fun part.   I created the pink/white PP by using masking tape to mask lines and sponging my fave pink - Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. Stamped the brown PP with Versamagic chalk ink.

My "no way!!" moment happened when I grabbed the vintage dictionary scrap from my scrap basket. It's from a "K" page and when I turned it over, the word "Konditorei" was on it!  "Konditorei" is German for patisserie and was what was on my mind after seeing this Tuesday Trigger for the first time! BTW, check out these lovelies from a patisserie in Rueil Malmaison, France...

I love the creative process. (And macaroons!)

And I love when things seem to happen for a reason.  And this folks, was THE card that moved me to create a blog.  There were enough reasons here.  However, I am jumping in head first and a bit leery of the whole thing.

If, by chance, you've actually read to this point I would be extremely grateful for YOUR BEST TIP for a newcomer to Blogger.

Thanks for coming to visit.  Hope to see you again.

Maria! So happy to see your beautiful designs surrounded by YOUR words! Love it! My only tip for you is to post about what you want, when you want! That way you'll enjoy the creative process and writing about it more. I'm sending you an email in a bit. xx

Maria, congrats on being the Moxie Fabber of the week! Your card is definitely yummy and when you mentioned the striped boxes of sweets my memory flashed, too, although sadly I can't put a name on it either. I applaud your courage in starting your blog. I have goals for this year and once the first one is completed starting my blog with follow (probably documenting some of my first goal;-) Best of luck in the future. I'm guessing that with your MFOTW status, you might get a whole lot more followers! Thanks again for all you shared on Moxie Fab World! It was great to meet you;-)
