And...I had just spent a little time over at Darnell K.'s playhouse (virtually, that is) and she was musing over the reasons why we make cards. To play challenges? To use up product? Check out her post. You'll be LOL at your desk, trust me.
Well, this strip of neon paper with circles punched out of it fell off my pile in the move process. Ta da - Addicted to CAS has a challenge theme "Circles." May I say a card was born.
So go with that and add some circles embossed to the card front. Then use up a negative die cut also living in the pile (see, I just can't throw this stuff away) and a wood veneer bird I had painted yellow. Why? Just because. (He, at least, had found his way back to his pals in the little drawer where my wood veneers live.)
I also had the cool feather sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch #31 in my brain, although my tree dictated that I kinda sorta had to mess with the sketch a bit. Oh well.
Cuz I had no idea for an appropriate sentiment/use for this card, I gave it an XOXO sentiment in a heart. Actually just tried to convince DS to give it to his girlfriend for her bday, suggesting he write something nice in it so she can save it and think about him again in 25 years when she finds it in her keepsake box... No deal. He 's not giving her anything - what kind of kid have I raised?
Well, here it is for your viewing pleasure ;)
Thanks for coming by.

Love the embossing and die cutting. The neon really did it for me...super pretty!
Well I enjoy ironing, but I haven't taken to ironing wrapping paper - yet! I love this unlikely combination of elements, but it just works - fab card.
Oh, this is stunning, Maria.
I'm in awe that you iron so much. I rarely iron at all, unless I'm sewing something.
Lovin' that pop of colour! Awesome!
:)
L.O.V.E. That is all I have to say! :)
Oh Boy...these sons of ours will never stop to surprise us (in all sorts of ways ;-)
I love your card and its wonderful contrasts! Again, such a strong sense for design!
Delicious! Thank You Maria~
Hi Maria. Enjoyed your post! :) And LOVE your card. The embossing on the side is balanced with all that bright color on the other. Fabulous colors together and the wood strip is so cool! Thanks for joining us at ATCAS. Loll xx
Great post - fantastic card, Maria! Like that pop of neon!
Me likey a lot! The texture, the neon, the cute little bird. Amazing mess on your desk!
Love this card and thank you for the link to djcardkreation, as predicted I did LOL!
Really neat combo of colors, texture and I love that the branches became the three elements on the side. Nifty!
that neon is so "in"

Thank you for the sweet shout out, Maria, my friend!! (The check is in the mail.) I enjoyed reading about the process that was involved in mak, er, "letting" this terrific card just make itself from the piles on your desk. That truly does happen! When it happens to me, I always feel a tiny wee bit like Samantha of the old "I Dream of Jeannie" TV show. You know? Or are you too young to remember that show? Anywiddle, it's cool when it happens and your card result is uber COOL!! xxoo Darnell
This is such a cool design! Love all the girlie pink against the dark wood panel.
What a great use of the "pile"!! I love the pop of bright yellow! (Darnell always makes me LOL too!!)
it IS a pleasure! this is uber cool and should be in an art gallery somewhere
Hello Maria - well you've certainly achieved more from your ironing board than I do from mine! lol Love the negative tree and yellow birdie. Thanks so much for joining us for this challenge at A2CAS.
