simply create too 81

It's all about "Easter or Bunnies" over at Simply Create Too this time around. I went Easter with this cute Chick Stack from Stamping Bella.

I started by trimming a panel from watercolor paper and watercoloring with yellow and green. When dry, I stamped three different sizes of eggs with white pigment ink to achieve a bokeh look. TIP: You get an even better bokeh effect by sponging white pigment ink through a stencil. But I wanted to use the egg shape so I used the reverse of clear stamps.

Then I temporarily adhered the panel to the card front and die cut the oval. Stamped chicks on the inside of card (with sentiment) peeking through aperture. Tied a bow with crochet thread and adhered it.

simply create too 67 (old/vintage)

Challenge #67 is up at Simply Create Too and I know it's one that will find lots of takers. The theme is "Old or Vintage". What do you think of when you hear that? Some things that go through my mind are old photos, scrunched seam binding, vintage photo ink, lace trim, pearls. Hmmm...

I grabbed a script BG stamp and a vintage looking lady along with a wine label (thanks, Jacqueline!)and this is what happened.

Went with Tea Dye for the smaller panel and stamped the lady in Hero Arts Soft Granite. Stamped a doily and a branch (die cut from craft foam) and took the ink pad directly to the cardbase a couple times too.

I added some seam binding and a button and the die cut wine label on top of the card and then had to give the whole thing an "edge" by adding the speech bubble sentiment which was a leftover from another project. Actually, it was a fox project and since the animal trend seems to have moved on and left the fox behind,  I'll be back to share that with you soon ;)

Hmmm... Dream it. Do it. How's that for a motto for 2014? I'll take it!  I dream lots.  Maybe next year I can "do" more with the dreams too...
