piglet or pooh - which are you? (Retro, SCS)

Another post with a very literal interpretation of the for-a-couple-more-hours current Retro Sketch for Challenge #35.  Literal,  because I also made the card for the HYCCT#1231 "A Walk in the Woods".

Granted, no woods around here look like this cute and fun card.  Actually, we hardly have woods around here - just the lone walnut trees in the midst of the vineyards...  But I wasn't in the mood for an artsy fartsy card at the moment.

When I found this quote from A.A. Milne's "Winnie the Pooh", I knew I had to use it - for the HYCCT campaign.  Cuz it is basically about how you see the world.  Dealing with cancer is definitely not a fun thing.  But I can only imagine it may be easier to do if you are capable of seeing the glass half-full instead of half-empty.  Although in my heart I think I am an optimist, I do tend to be like Piglet in my daily life, always seeing the negative.  I need to take some lessons from  gentle Pooh Bear.

Definitely hard to get this sentiment onto a card like this.  This one won't win any prizes, but I felt compelled to make it.  Found this digi freebie stamp from Dawn and printed it on four pieces of CS.  Added a die cut wonky border, some clouds faintly in the BG and the eyelet/floss like the sketch.

Friday was a good card karma day for me.  You too?

Having already created one card in the morning, I found Wida's email .  Do you know Wida from Beachorado?  Of course you do.  Do you know the CASADIA challenge she started?  CASADIA was started with one card  from Laura B. which was CASED.  Then that card was CASED.  And then that card was CASED.  And so on, and so on.  Cool idea, eh?

This is the card that got the ball rolling.  From Laura B.

Fast forward...this is Rose M.'s card which I got to CASE.

Now for my card.  My CASE?  Let me warn you it's CASE a la Aimes of Crafting Confessions, which basically means pick the elements that jump out and hit ya and make a CAS card with 'em.

Well, the huge "dearly" immediately morphed into "deer".  And that led to the rest of the card.  Polka dots -  - couldn't resist kissing those onto Bambi.  I broke the red/white trend but still went with a dramatic color combo of dark gray and gold, adding a touch of red with my sentiment.  And heart - I chose this sentiment because it contained the word "heart" - the focal point of Rose's card.

As for the design, I still had CASE This Sketch #2 on the brain after this card so I'm hooking up there again.

name that tune (CFC#46)

"I can name that tune in four notes."  If you're as old as me you might remember that TV show.  I was pretty good at it.  I'm likin' Adele these days and her latest number is pretty easy to identify after a couple beats.  Was my inspiration for my CASual Fridays card.

"Rumor has it" -  thought the pointing finger was a good motif for this so I then went with all the arrows from the Sassafras set.  Created the computer generated sentiment and ran it across the bottom.  The inside reads "you're havin a birthday" in the same font (Bodo black square).
