kaleidoscope 3 and 4

I've been playing more with this Simon Says Stamp "kaleidoscope" BG (did you see this card and this card?) and finally pulled out some colored pencils to color it!

Kaleidoscope
If you own this stamp, you probably never have to buy another coloring book. No kidding. SO many ways to color it. I'd cut a stamped panel in half, thinking I'd try a couple coloring variations. I grabbed a new, cheap colored pencil set I picked up at Aldi and set out without a plan. Well, OK, my plan was to use rainbow colors.

This stamp is amazing. Reminds me of those autostereogram books that were out years back - you stared at/through some mess of dots and suddenly you'd see some 3D image. I stared at it for a bit and picked a grouping of 6 elements (I saw a flower) and set about coloring them ROYGBV. When that was complete I colored the open spaces gray and added some gold glitter gel pen highlights. This resulted.

See the gold glitter gel pen highlights? The sentiment, BTW, is Kelly Purkey Follow Your Heart. Old.

Cuz I think it's so interesting to "search" this pattern for mini patterns, here are a couple my eye found. I've tried to point to the pattern.

A bunch of bells pointing upwards and meeting in the middle.

Could be bells, or I chose to see flower petals, opening up to reveal a gem in the middle.

Hexagons. One after the other.
Fun stuff, eh? Well then I decided I wanted to color and leave more white space. So this next card happened. Can you tell which "element" I chose to start coloring first? Hint: I started with yellow, orange, red, pink. But then I grabbed blues. Yeah whatever.

If you look closely (if your eye will stay still enough) you can see three triangular areas colored with red tones. And with a yellow center.

After coloring those - BTW, you do have to concentrate when coloring this way! Glad I used colored pencil cuz mistakes could be erased! - I colored some of the remaining elements and ended up with some upside down white triangular areas too.

And here too I added a little bit of gold gel pen for sparkly interest. This sentiment is from Hero Arts Type.

Hope you enjoyed. Have a great week.
