Anyhoo, I've a tag card for you today. With lotsa red. Remember this month's challenge over at the Mixed Media Card Challenge?
Everything but the kitchen sink... a painted tag, a woodgrain stamping snippet, leftover gold foil die cut pieces, punched leaves, heat embossed sentiments and a die cut flower up top. Oh and some raffia. To make it a card I scored a second manila tag about a 1/2" from the top and applied adhesive to it before sticking the two tags together.
Whether this will go in the mail as a card or get hung around a bottle of wine remains to be seen... either way it's cool to be able to write on the "inside" rather than on the back of the tag. Heck, the recipient could even remove the back piece and re-use the tag!
I'm also playing in the Winnie Walter 2nd Birthday Bash "Anything but a Card" challenge. Hope I qualify.
And at Just Us Girls #330.
As well as at new-to-me Double D. What a great inspiration photo!
On another note, Bonnie and Loll are starting a new challenge that might interest you if you're more CASSY (like me) than full-blown messy mixed media. It's called CAS Mix Up and you can check it out here.

Such fun, texture and such vibrancy on this tag. Great idea to use it as a card +/or tag x
I also collect all the leftover cutouts in various boxes but never remember to look through them! Hope you used some on this fun tag/card!
This is gorgeous. I'm a huge fan of red - it's my favourite colour. I love how you've managed to incorporate all those little snippets into this tag. Ingenious! Xx
You did a fabulous job with your tag! Especially love the hello left in the negative. I keep all my scraps in a little container on my desk with drawers and I try to organize them by theme. Of course the drawers are bulging and my intentions are good but don't use them as much as I should. Thanks for playing along with us at Just Us Girls for trend week!!
Super loaded tag you made here Maria. Love how everything just married together beautifully. thanks for coming over and joining us at Just Us Girls this week.
Just so sweet...love all the sweet bits you added to your wonderful tag.
Very pretty tag and fabulous use of the leftover pieces...I store mine by color in clear card size bags. Thank you for joining our Double D 'Red/White challenge!

Great way to use up those scraps and leftovers! I need to do some cleaning up and cleaning out, too. Thanks for sharing in our Red and White Challenge at Double D!
Cute layering - but I am in LOVE with the basic striped background! Thanks for joining in at DD's
AND JUGS! ;)
What a beautiful and happy tag Maria!
Love it!!
I have a fancy little box that I keep on my desk. It's not very big, but that's where all the bits and bobs go. When it starts to look "full," I pull parts out that strike my fancy and build a card around them. I love what you've done here; everything looks like it was meant for this card/tag! The painted tag really trips my trigger, and the black, blue, and gold bits are the perfect compliment to it. Great design. LOVE this! Have a great weekend. Bev
Such a sweet tag!
Such a sweet tag!
Fabulous use of all those 'extra' elements, Maria ... brilliant die cut collaging ... bright and fun and all texture-y! Hugs, Anita :)
You've got a fabulous knack of pulling together random snippets and bringing them together in a coherent, often edgy, and always brilliant, project. When I've no room left on my craft table to actually craft, I gather together all the random snippets and shove them in another bag. I have lots of bags. Sometimes I use some of the snippets...
this is so much fun!!! Love the mixing and matching!!!
this is just DELICIOUS!!!
