So what do you do when you're at your parents', helping them through some health issues, and your supplies are all back at home? You grab your mama's nudelholz. The piece of holz (wood) that mamas use to make nudel (noodles). And you use it to add some interest and make impressions into a piece of paper with the Essentials by Ellen Wild Garden die that you just received. Cuz your die cutting machine is at home.
And you grab a white crayon that you found and make some random circles to resist the blue watercolor background that you are trying to make with your newly purchased Color Bursts. And a not-so-well-washed-out bug repellent bottle that you are using cuz it's all you can find to spritz water with. Cuz you really need a blue watercolor-y background. Cuz you are CASEing the queen of artsy blue cards,
Karen Dunbrook of Snippets for the
August CASEplorations!
Check out Karen's card the STAMPlorations Inspiration DT is CASEing this time around.
And my card.
So once I had my BG done (picture me standing in front of the fan trying to get my waterlogged paper to dry in the Michigan humidity!) I stamped a few blooms from STAMPlorations Floral Bliss with Mermaid Lagoon DI (I love Hobby Lobby and 40% off coupons!) They bled a little on the damp paper and softened up nicely.
Then it was just a repeat-stamped sentiment from STAMPlorations Fond Expressions and my CASE was a wrap.
I've missed not only my supplies, but also you lovely blogland friends. Hope to be around a little more in the next few weeks, seeing what I can create with my limited stash. But you know me - I love me a good challenge ;)
Hope your summer (or winter) has been and continues to be enjoyable. Used your nudelholz lately?!?

Even with limited supplies your card has turned out beautiful !
Gorgeous card! You're very resourceful - you could have your own little challenge on how many household items you can improvise with ;)
So what do need all those supplies, when you can create wonders with your mom's kitchen supplies???
WAY TO USE WHAT YOU HAVE!! Well done gf
All this from hodgepodged supplies?! You have talent coming out of your pinky finger! Ah-mazing!
Wow! You not only CASEd the card beautifully you did it with bits and bobs too - am in awe. And reminds me that next time I'm moaning about not having the right stuff, I'll just check out the kitchen drawer for a nudelholz type thing!
Love it and laughed at your description of how you created it!
Fabulous, Maria! Under the circumstances, I would add, GENIUS!
I am so impressed by your ingenuity. If you want more supplies, not sure where in michigan you are but if you are near Novi at all, the Heirloom RubberArts stamp expo is this weekend....http://www.heirloompro.com/shows2010/shows-Novi-08-01-2015.html
Smiled and chuckled at your great post, Maria ... talk about creative ... if there was a McGyver prize, you'd have it! To think you made such a striking card with so little ... I bow to your ingenuity! Anita :)
McGyver move...love your card and at first glance, I thought your title was nudeholtz <-- ha....going to grab more coffee...evidently, I need it.
Now that proves you are so amazingly creative :) lack of supplies cannot stop you ! Love this card !
Leave it to you to not let a missing die cutting machine get you down, Maria! Your background really turned out wonderful anyway!!! Hmmmm…and here you are probably less than a day's drive away from me!!! I'm sure your parents are appreciating having you there!
Amazing!! LOVE this design. Just goes to show that crafters are one determined bunch! Who needs craft supplies when you have a nudelholz??!! Great card Maria! Take care ... sending hugs. xx
Well done you! Mama always said to 'make do with what you've got.' And you've gone waaay beyond 'making do.' This is fantastic. LOVE that color blue. Might have to use my coupon...Great card, and I hope all is going well in MI. Take good care. Bev
This is sooo nudelholz-ing adorable!!! You're here? and you haven't called? Let me know if there is anyway I can help out with those needed supplies!! Still have my number?
=] Michele
Two amazing cards...and all that wonderful blue!
What a wonderful daughter you are helping your parents out. And tearing yourself away from your craft stash at the same time. Its sounds though like your a very creative woman who could craft with a stick and a stone!! Loved reading about how you created this card, your so clever and the end result is stunning. If your not home yet, I hope you've managed to get some supplies together to keep you going.
Hope your parents are feeling better by now. Love to see what you've created with only a few supplies.
