simply create too 91

Well it's everybody's favorite, Anything Goes time again over at Simply Create Too! Can you figure out what my card's all about?

I've pulled this one out of the archives - it was made for a submission call requiring the use of text talk. Can you translate?

Used PP from Fancy Pants. The texture plate and alphabet stamp (stamped once in blue and once in dark gray) are from Sizzix. Hand cut the speech bubble shape and used a chipboard exclamation point.

BTW, translated...  "In my opinion, you da man. I love you. End of message" :)

simply create too 89

Over at Simply Create Too #89 it's all about Getting Ahead for Christmas! (Not that I am any good at this.) But I've got an ornament to share with you that I made last year to hang on a present.

Die cut the star from felt twice and layered a CS star in between. Poked holes and stitched the sides with a blanket stitch. Then I glued on bunches of buttons with Multi Matte Medium. Good way to use up some old buttons, eh? I thought the pink and green gave the red star some pep!

Now it's up to you. Simply create something Christmas-y too!

I'm going to MIA around here for a couple weeks. I'm in MI with Mom and Dad who are having some health problems. CU eventually...

STAMPlorations 2nd birthday blog hop - day 4

Did you see who's turning 2? STAMPlorations!

Today is Day 4 of the hop to celebrate and I've a card for you using the new set designed by Shirley B., Party Girl. Remember City Girl? Well meet her cousin!

Not a fancy card, just an idea for a technique you can use with this sketchy set. I've yet to attempt to assemble the pretty gal herself ;) I merely used the reverse of the image to stamp the shadow, then adhered the fussy cut white heat-embossed dress over the top of it. The sentiment is from Party Time.

There's fun to be had over on the STAMPlorations blog, including a project from today's amazing guest designer, the queen of party herself, Taheerah A. You'll find all the prize info there too, as well as a linky where you can hook up a card inspired by this birthday mood board.

STAMPlorations 2nd birthday blog hop - day 3

Well there's a party goin' on around here all week cuz STAMPlorations is turning 2!!!!

Today is Day 3 of the hop and I've a card for you using the new set designed by Shery R., Party Time.

For today's card I was inspired by the Let the Good Times Roll sentiment. Made me go all funky and psychedelic. How'd I do?

ETA: I'm taking my dots over to Simon Says Wednesday challenge too.

Stamped the sentiment onto a white circle and die cut a slightly larger circle from black too. Marked where I wanted them to be on the card and then using a sponge dauber I applied the boldest and brightest colors of dye ink I could find, trying to create a hazy circle image around the sentiment. Wish there would have been a bit more of the Picked Raspberry - isn't that color just scrumptious?

There's fun to be had over on the STAMPlorations blog, including a project from today's guest designer, the oh-so-talented Keren Baker. You'll find all the prize info there too, as well as a linky where you can hook up a card inspired by this birthday mood board.

CASEplorations July

Welcome to the July installment of CASEplorations. You know the routine. We select one cool card from the blogosphere for your and our CASEing pleasure. Meet this month's card.

You likely saw this on the STAMPlorations blog. It's a quintessential Tenia N. (of Jazzy Paper Designs and also my DT teamie) card, don't you think?  I am always in awe of the edginess of her creations. But let me tell you. It was a challenge to channel Tenia and try to come up with something half as cool as her card. Here's my attempt.

Went with the new home idea. And Tenia's concoction of colors. And dots and washi and shiny textures.

I must say, the first item that caught my eye on Tenia's card was the enamel chevron up top. That's why I clear embossed the ones from Chevron and Arrows, after sponging two purple inks through the Bubbles stencil through a circle mask. Fussy cut a heat embossed house from The Bee's Knees Houses and grounded it with washi. Used some words from Christmas and New Year for my sentiment. Added some hearts with washi up top and an enamel heart down by the house.

Remember, if you feel moved to CASE Tenia's card of my card (I'd be thrilled) or any of the DT Inspiration Projects coming up during July, you can hook up your creations in the Inspiration CASE Playground. It's open until August 5th. Hope to see you there. You could be a lucky random winner!
