happy WCMD and winners!

One day I hope maybe I will get together with other like-minded gals to make some cards on World Card Making Day. Last year I was oh-so-lucky to have a card chosen as a winner at Paper Crafts (the souls who breathed life into WCMD about ten years ago). This year I'm spending the day in the vineyards rather than in my craft room.

But I've got a card to share with you - one of the three that I actually sent in to the PC contest last year. Used one of the best (IMO) Christmas sentiment stamps out there and some PP.

Not certain if Virginia will agree... but I'm hooking up to her Virginia's View CAS challenge. The PP makes it seem busy, but it's really a very simple card.

Now, for the fun stuff. I've got two winners.

Jim, better known as Irish Cherokee. Come on down. DD picked #1 to be the winner of some goodies I promised in my Getting to Know Me post. The early bird gets the worm... ;) Oh and BTW, Kate of pinnedandpenned has her GTKM post up. Check it.

And Carol, better known as cm, you are the lucky winner of a STAMPlorations stamp set. DD went all mainstream on me and picked #27 which was the last comment!

I will be contacting you both.

Happy WCMD to you all. Let's hear it for "hugs with a fold." Go make some :)

Hi Maria!!!! I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things. DH is still asleep, so I have a couple of minutes for comments. This card is utterly amazing. Madly in love with this one!! Love those colors and your design is impeccable. I hope you don't mind if I pin this one..too cool not to. HWCMD to you as well. Have a great weekend. Bev

A most stunning card, Maria...the colours, the design, the sentiment with the variety of fonts. Yep, I'm joining Bev in loving this madly! I, too, will not be participating in WCMD, as we'll be attending provincial bike organization meetings early this afternoon (leaving 1.5 hours ahead of time), then officiating at cyclo-cross races beginning at 4 and ending at 10pm (special event called Dark Knight...it's zany!!). I think your time in the vineyards will be much warmer (and productive). I'm hoping to post two cards before we leave, but...we shall see! AND, did you hear my ecstatic cheering when I read that I'm a winner from your 'getting to know me' post? I'm sure I was loud enough! THANK YOU!! Totally thrilled and honoured, indeed!! Have an excellent day, Maria; as excellent as you've made mine!
Hugs~c

I make no excuses about being a big fan of CAS cards. They make you think and be creative. Love the card in every way. That is one of the classic sentiments. Love ti.

I now have a bruise on my chin from it hitting the keyboard. I did not cheer as Carol did but I am in shock. Thank you and it is an honor.I do verty much love visiting and seeing your creations. - Jim

To me it is CAS perfection, Maria. A nontraditional Christmas card with a lot of WOWs. Love that sentiment too... last year I purchased that stamp set, the only TT set that I have, but never used because my order arrived just a few days from Christmas, maybe this year...

Super cool non-traditional x-mas card! I love those circles and yes, sentiment placement is perfect! Happy WCMD-- a day spent in the vineyard sounds lovely. I've many a happy memory of doing that myself in the Finger Lakes (NY) region. Hugs with a fold- what the heck! Too funny!
