spotlight on a victorian vibe

Howdy peeps! I'd love you to take a look at my tutorial for this card over at the STAMPlorations blog. I had some more fun with the new Stamp Club set, Bloomful, this time picking up on a Victorian vibe I got from that floral image.

STAMPlorations inspiration #209

Welcome to another Tuesday inspiration from the STAMPlorations inspiration team where the team members feature stamps from one of our talented stamp designers.

Today we're showcasing Shery Russ stamps. Shery's designs are 10% off this week (with an extra 20% off when you use my discount code STAMPGIRLMARIA).

So this month I've challenged myself to use up PP on my cards. Mission accomplished - well a tiny dent has been made in my stash at least!

patterned paper

I started by cutting a panel of PP. Die cut one feather from PP, one from white CS and one from purple. Heat embossed a feather onto the white, a sentiment onto the purple.  Added a few "arrows" to ground the collage group and draw attention to the sentiment. Added some gold splatters and a touch of wispy thread to the sentiment and voila.

For more inspiration with this fun set, see this card. And this one.

You could win yourself a $10 GC to the store by leaving a comment on the March inspiration posts. Check out today's post here. So happy you stopped by :) Hope you've enjoyed this month's series where I 've used (and used up ;) PP on my designs.

STAMPlorations inspiration #208

Back for a Tuesday inspiration from the STAMPlorations inspiration team where the team members feature stamps from one of our talented stamp designers.

We're showcasing Dee's Artsy Impressions stamps. Dee's stamps are 10% off automatically this week (with an extra 20% off when you use my discount code STAMPGIRLMARIA).

This month, I 'm creating cards incorporating PP I found during my craft room organization!

Altenew inks
Studio Calico Snippets PP
sequins

This was so easy. I was in the mood for random stamping. I chose the solid rose stamps from the set and randomly stamped the blooms and leaves. I used a snippet from the PP pad for my sentiment and added a die cut circle behind it to complete the half circle on the snippet. Added some sequins and voila!

I used this stamp set here too if you're in the mood for more inspiration.

light and airy confirmation card

Stopping by today with a card I made for a confirmation. I was inspired by this card. Check out Silke's grid on IG if you're feeling in the mood for light and airy collage design... She does it like no one else.

I do not have as light a hand as Silke, but I used up a little more PP  ;)

Charlie and Paulchen Sommer Trio die
Heidi Swapp gold ink spray
Studio Calico PP

Basically, I just pulled out a PP pad and some dies which I thought fit the confirmation theme. Die cut some pieces and then spent way too much time arranging and rearranging them until I got something I was happy with ;)

Thanks for looking. Have a great week.

STAMPlorations inspiration #207

Back for a Tuesday inspiration from the STAMPlorations inspiration team where the team members feature stamps from one of our talented stamp designers.

We're showcasing Big Grins by Becca stamps. Becca's stamps are 10% off automatically this week (with an extra 20% off when you use my discount code STAMPGIRLMARIA).

This month, I 'm creating cards using PP that I discovered in my recent craft room organization!

clear embossing powder
distress ink
ribbon, button, twine

I used the emboss resist technique here - stamped the solid butterfly images onto PP and heat embossed them clear. Then I sponged Worn Lipstick DI over the PP. Trimmed the panel, adhered it to my cardbase and stamped the sentiment. Added the ribbon.

I've used this set here too if you'd like more inspiration.

simon says stamp - filigree heart card

There's a blog hop for the Fresh Bloom release happening right now over at SSS and there are some beautiful and innovative products. I was lucky to receive the Filigree Heart die to play with.

Did you see my post yesterday? I made a set of tags, and since I had one "practice" blue die cut left over, I turned it into an embellishment on this card.

WPlus9 Heart die
Hero Arts Sentiment stamp
cardstock scraps
Studio Calico Snippets PP

Used an inked BG I found during my craft room cleanup to back the heart with. Fussy cut the BG and the heart.

Be sure to check out the release if you haven't, and all the makes with it in the gallery at Simon Says Stamp. I'm happy I got to have some "fun" with this new die. Thanks mucho, Simon.

simon says stamp - filigree heart

There's a blog hop happening right now over at SSS and boy are there some beautiful and innovative products. I received the Filigree Heart die to play with from the latest release over at Simon Says Stamp, Fresh Bloom.

I immediately got a Scandi vibe from this die, so set out to do some inlaid die cutting.

Since I was going to be die cutting from various colors I thought to myself, "Why not make a set of tags?" So two hours later, this had happened ;)

Be sure to check out the release if you haven't, and all the makes with it in the gallery at Simon Says Stamp. I'm happy I got to have some "fun" with this new die. Thanks mucho, Simon.

STAMPlorations inspiration #206

Welcome to a Tuesday inspiration from the STAMPlorations inspiration team where the team members feature stamps from one of our talented stamp designers.

Today we're showcasing The Bee's Knees stamps. All stamps in this category are automatically 10% off this week and you get an extra 20% off if you use my discount code STAMPGIRLMARIA when you order.

So this month I'm challenging myself to incorporate patterned papers cuz I just did a major reorganization in my craft room and discovered I've got enough PP for three lifetimes! Here's my card.

Wow embossing powder
patterned paper

So CAS easy peasy. I stamped the sentiment and image and heat embossed them to add a bit more interest to the CAS design. Added a panel of PP and a strip of complementing PP and voila!

Looking for more inspiration with this fabulous set, see this card. I used it for a pet sympathy card.

CUTplorations march

Helau folks! It's the culmination of Fastnacht here in my 'hood. And it's time again for a new challenge over at STAMPlorations CUTplorations! Here's the inspiration for March. I chose the photo in a nod to the late Kate Spade, but love that it's also got some yummy cake and coffee in it too!

I hope there is something in this photo to inspire you to join us. I saw polka dots and coffee. Nuff said. Oh, and a chance to use up some of my newly organized PP from my stash!

In my craft room organization I had a cover left over from a pad of cardstock that I tore apart for my new way of organizing colored cardstock. I knew I could use the little patches of CS from the cover. So I cut the coffee cups from four of the colors. And the rectangles from some PP. And the sentiment from some gold CS and voila!

TIP: To define the edges of die cuts a bit better, add some ink with a dauber.

I hope you'll join us for some die cutting fun over at the CUTplorations challenge.  Create a project based on the inspiration using at least one die cut and at least one STAMPlorations product. Your project might be chosen as the winner of a $15 GC to the shop. Check out how the CUTplorations DT was inspired by this month's photo here.

And don't forget about my STAMPlorations discount code STAMPGIRLMARIA for 20% off should you find yourself shopping;)  Thanks for coming by. See you in the gallery.
