STAMPlorations summer release - big dreamer

Welcome to day 3 of the STAMPlorations Summer Release. Today's set is so ... perfect. Meet Big Dreamer. I absolutely L♥VE it.

Of course my CAS-loving heart made me create this card first. It's one layer (on my normal Folia 300gsm CS) and I actually used Zigs directly to CS and a water brush to add some color. It held up beautifully. Just a tad water and not many brush strokes.

Zig clean color brush markers

Even added a smidgen of pearlescent watercolor on top for some sparkly shimmer. I truly love the thickness of the outlines on this set and that sentiment is a total winner in its perfect imperfection.

For my next card, I finally gave a technique from Yana S. a try and it was love at first pencil stroke. Random stamped. Heat embossed. Colored with Prismacolors.

Stampendous Moonstone embossing powder
Prismacolor colored pencils

Just look at the smoothness of those blended blues? The waxy nature of Prismacolors makes this possible.

Have you tried colored pencils on dark cardstock yet? I'd love to hear about your experience.

Shery's offering prizes as always. Leave comments by July 23 on all the release posts this week on the STAMP blog and the DT blogs to be in the running - there's a $25 GC and also your choice of a stamp set and word die from this release up for grabs!  Check out what my teamies created over at the STAMPlorations blog.

I'm joining the fun at:
Color Throwdown - #502
Happy Little Stampers - July Watercolor (#1)
Stamping Sensations - In my Garden (#1, #2)
Allsorts - Flowers all Over (#2)
Time Out - Smile (just a "laugh" taken to extremes ;)

  5. These are both super designs ad a great way to show how to use the same set in different ways. Love the fresh background of the first card and the soft colouring. Then the grey base with this embossing looks amazing. Great use of these pencils, it looks like water colouring. Great to see you again at Time Out, we have loved your cards x

  15. Beautiful CAS flower design with your Zigs watercoloring, Maria. As you know, I am very partial to CAS designs.
Yes, I have used prisma color pencils for coloring, but used kraft cardstock and gamsol to help blend the colors and loved the results. TFS your beauty and reminding me how wonderful prisma color pencils look on colored cardstock. I LOVE Shery's new stamp set and your beautiful creations. Hugs...
