Although today I'm really missing my family in the US, I've got plenty to be thankful for. My family here. Our health. Good eats to come our way when we celebrate on Sunday. And on the cardmaking side... stamps sets won from generous online stores. And that oh-so-teensy-Christmas-light-stamp-nestled-in-between-others on one of the zillion stamp sets in my stash. Whuddathunkit?
What the heck am I talking about? Meet this CAS-color-me-happy Christmas card.
Wanted to use this stamp from the set I won at JayGee's Nook to send Judith G. holiday wishes. Wanted to stick to B/W and just color the string of lights on the house. Also wanted to use this sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch #6:
Feared that using PP behind the focal image would be too much for the outline image. Thought about a dry embossed panel. Then something (who knows what) made me peruse my holiday stamps and sure enough, there on that tiny Hero Arts robot stamp there was this single light. Problem solved! Hand drew the strings, stamped the lights and colored them in. Just a bit of glitter on the snowcovered roof and a touch of twine... I'm likin' the result. Here's a second version.
Also playing at the new CAS challenge blog, Addicted to CAS #1:
Hmm. Just rethought that. What better way to spend the three hours when the kitchen is cleaned up and the guys are doin' the football thing... Go girl!
Supplies for Holiday Wishes:
Paper: cardbase Papermania, CS Neenah
Stamps: Hero Arts
Ink : Memento
Tools:
Other: Sharpie markers, twine, glitter

Thanksgiving eve here and everyone's settled in front of the tube after a light dinner, so I snuck in here. Glad I did, 'cause I LOVE your two cards, Maria! I keep flipping between the white twine and the red, only to find I definitely don't have a preference. They are both brilliant in their CASness and their cheer!!
Best wishes for a wonderful Sunday celebration!

Beautiful cards Maria! Very clever background with the lights and I love the stamps you have used and the small glitter detail on the roof makes all the difference! Thank you for playing along with us at ATCAS!
Gorgeous Maria! The lights behind the white panel do add fun pops of colour and I love the way you have kept most of the main image B&W. Thanks so much for joining us at Jay Gee's again. I always love seeing your cards :)

Oh, love the lights on the background of your card, so great how they pass behind your main panel! I'll have to keep that in mind, instead of leaving it blank all the time. Slowly getting a chance to catch up on some blog posts, and wanted to thank you so much for your words of sympathy on my blog last week. They really mean a lot to me!
Huge CONGRATS on your CTS win Maria - you're on a roll :) :) :)
Congrats on being a FAVORITE at Case This Sketch. How could you not win some recognition with this beautiful card?
