a sympathy card

Revisited one of my favorite sympathy card designs today.

I hate having to make them, but I think this sympathy card reflects both sadness (the single bird in the bush) as well as hope for the future - as in, "the sun sets, but the sun also rises" - with the acrylic-block-ink-smooshed morning sky.

The sentiment says it all.

I'm joining in at:
Simon Says Wenesday - Something New (as in a new day)
Stempelkueche - #85 Anything Goes
Inkspirational - Stamping Only
Shopping our Stash - Watercolor

  1. While sympathy cards are, I think, the most difficult cards to make, you've hit the mark with this one. The symbolism of the single bird along with the 'new dawn' colors, makes this a very comforting card. It's really lovely, and will offer the most kind consolation to its recipient. Nicely done. Bev

  2. Simple, yet so pretty! Daring colors, so for a sympathy card - but I guess in those moments we all need a bit of cheer!
