STAMPlorations release - say it big

Hope you've been enjoying the events over at STAMPlorations where the gals have been creating with the newly released products. Today a group of us are working with the new additions to the Say it Big series. You can catch the whole lineup here.

Do you own many large sentiment stamps? If you do, you may like today's post where you can get more ideas on how to use them. I have two projects for you. And check out our challenge this month at STAMPlorations too - it's about putting focus on the sentiment.

For my first card I pulled out a smooshed background from my stash and using my MISTI stamped the sentiment a few times. I needed to do this because the paper has a linen texture. But I think it turned out OK.

To add something more, I stamped the sun and rainbow and used watercolor pencils and my water brush to give them a touch of color. Drew the wonky border with a Sharpie.

For my second project, I actually used two big sentiments. Not sure that I like the result, I'd hoped the inlaid die cut would be more subtle. Maybe I should have stuck with tone-on-tone?? - if you have any tips on how to make this idea more effective, please share.

Hope you'll check out what the other girls did with these large sentiments. And if you create something with the focus on the sentiment, be sure to hook up with the monthly challenge at STAMPlorations which will go live on April 5!

What would we do without a Misti, no more frustrating mishaps!
Two super cards. :)

Both of these are absolutely fabulous! xxx

Wonderful cards. Love the wonky border on the first. Maybe the tone on tone would have been better on the second.

WONDERFUL words of WISDOM and cards to INSPIRE!
LOVE your first one, the background and framing is perfect!
As for your inlay card, I confess to struggling with this technique too. I made an inlaid sentiment card just last week and it took 7 layers of plain cardstock underneath it for it to show up and even then it was quite subtle.
Thank You for sharing :)

Two fabulous cards!! Love the first; the background is so pretty and the wonky border looks perfect with the sentiment! I have not tried your technique on the second, so I don't have any words of wisdom.

Brilliantly showcased, Maria ... the dreaminess of the first is perfect with those wise words ... the second is cool and crisp with the camouflaged die cut ... the colours work for me just as they are! Hugs, Anita :)

I admit, I always miss the inlaid sentiments until I read that they are there, but I think it's subtle enough for normal people too! :)

What wonderful projects. I love the whimsical feel of the first one. I've never tried the inlay technique and I applaud you for sharing your second card even if you weren't happy with the result. I think we can all learn from each other, and it's always great to try new things!
