wonder (WPlus9, Cloud9)

WONDER.  A noun - as in "star of wonder".  A verb - as in "I wonder if DS will break curfew tonight"?  A word I find strong enough to stand on its own and carry a powerful message.  As in this card I submitted for the Holiday Cards issue of Paper Crafts which I guess wasn't carrying a powerful enough message (I know, I know, white on white...)  but I share it with you.

And "wonder" - as in the name of the wonder-full book whose 313 pages I spent last night reading.  If you like books you don't want to put down , books that make you laugh out loud and cry out loud, books about human kindness (can you tell I watched Obama's Berlin speech this afternoon - tricolonic repetition?!?!?)  - if so, meet Wonder.

So, with wonder on the brain, and the book (borrowed from a gardener friend of mine) to pass on to another gal to read, I created a bookmark to insert in it before passing it on.  Meet the bookmark.

Know where I'm going with this?  To the WPlus9 Mood Board #14 and the Cloud9 Anything Goes June Blog Hop.  Thanks for visiting today.

May I leave you with this from Wonder,  which is actually from The Little Bird:
"Shall we make a new rule of life... always to try to be a little kinder than is necessary?"

Supplies wonder:
Paper: Neenah, chevron PP Pebbles, pink PP Ursus
Stamps: WPlus9
Ink: Hero Arts
Tools: tag die #1 PTI, alphas Memory Box
Other: crochet thread, beads, lace trim

Beautiful post. Gave me misty eyes. There's so much selfishness, badness, and other "-nesses" in the world, that sometimes I don't even want to venture outside. You've offered kindness, and goodness and beauty in your post. Your card and bookmark are beautiful and 'wonder'ful. Thank you for posting today. Thank you for making beauty in this world. Bev

What a lovely card and bookmark! The misting on the stars against the white card base is just beautiful, and the stitching adds a great texture. I love your idea of tucking a bookmark into a book to pass on to a friend--the colors are so pretty!

i dunno girlie, but my publishing eye thinks the vellum, white on white and stitching makes for a more powerful sentiment! the spray of stars and sequins are just lovely.
